Fab Inc. was set up in 2017 by a group of like-minded international development specialists. We aspire to be a leading provider of knowledge and analytical tools to help improve learning for all children.

Dr Paul Atherton

I am a (not so) secret economist turned education specialist, with unique experience helping Governments and delivery partners improve outcomes.

María José Ogando Portela

I am an applied economist & statistician who combines academic skills with experience of working directly with governments and a knowledge of the reality of statistical systems and programme data.

Alasdair Mackintosh

I am an education economist specialised in sector and project level costing, value-for-money and girls’ education. I have frequently worked with, and within, governments to bridge the gap between data, evidence and policies.

Kevin Pye

I am chief technology officer at Fab, bringing a wealth of tech experience and programming skills to build the systems that underpin it all.

Dr Oliver Garrod

I am the chief data scientist, with 15 years experience in academia developing research software and analysis pipelines. I joined the company to apply my experience to an exciting new set of problems.

Eugenio de Benedetti

I am a software developer, leading on back end development of apps, data dashboards, and online planning tools.

Ana Paola Ramírez

I am the spatial analysis lead with experience working with government on emergency planning. Previously, I worked as consultant and senior analyst with UNDP and various think tanks in Mexico.

Dr Ian Sullivan

I am a social scientist with a focus on climate change and community level responses to the challenges that it creates. I also worked at Oxfam for over 10 years in campaigns and policy.

Jared Lee

I am a development finance specialist and technology enthusiast.  I previously set up the Education Outcomes Fund and worked as a strategy consultant with Bain & Company.

Robin Ince

I am a data scientist with a background in statistics, data visualisation, machine learning, psychology and neuroscience. Building on my experience in both industry and in academia, I’m excited about the potential positive impact of my work at Fab.

Dorica Andrew

I am a Tanzanian economist specialising in education climate resilience, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement. I work to bridge data insights with policy development, focusing on climate adaptation and education sector improvements.

Tomáš Koutecký

I am an analyst with experience in data management, data analysis, report writing and the preparation and programming of survey instruments.

Dr Meng Liu

I am a data scientist working on geographical data and statistical exploration of a variety of areas.

Mohamed James

I am a data scientist and software developer working within the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education in Sierra Leone.

I am the creative director and lead on UX and software design, data visualisation and communications.

I am a GIS data scientist with a blend of skills in data extraction / web scraping, spatial data analysis, building models, data visualisation and data storytelling.

I am a chartered management accountant with more than 20 years’ experience in international organisations’ based in the UK, South America, Middle East and Africa. Roles have involved reporting at board level with listed companies, privately owned companies and government organisations.

I am a trained engineer who discovered a passion for teaching and all things education. From grassroots teaching experiences to recently completing an MSc in Education Technology at Oxford, I am committed to deliver and support projects that effectively integrate technology into the learning processes.

Natalia Valdes Aspillaga

I am a sociologist with a master’s degree in the evaluation of public policies for poverty alleviation, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in the same field. Before working here, I worked at the Ministry of Social Development in Chile.

Aiah Yendeh

I am an associate technical adviser on policy, with experience in managing and utilising education data for decision making, embedded at the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Sierra Leone.

I’m a data scientist with a deep interest in educational technologies. My work on educational projects in Tanzania sparked my passion for education.

Romana Kropilova

I am an education specialist passionate about leveraging the potential of technology, with experience in both for-profit and nonprofit education organisations.

Veenu Saini

I am a former software engineer who transitioned to working in education, beginning as a teacher. Over the years, having designed and led large-scale initiatives with state education departments in India, I bring a mix of hands-on experience and public administration training to complex service delivery challenges.

He has worked all across Africa, managing large scale delivery projects for major donors; designing and evaluating projects; and supporting Governments to reform and improve systems.
